“...feels like no one is listening.”
Hey there,
I got a message from a coach last week.
“Any tips for the newer coach who is putting out content but feels like no one is listening? I truly believe I have so much to offer — but have yet to book my first client.”
I’ve been there.
Anyone who’s done anything new has been there — it’s the calm before the storm.
And here's what most people won't tell you: It's not just you, and it's not just your content.
There are two things happening:
The algorithms are working against you (but we can fix that)
You haven't found your rhythm yet (we can fix that, too)
Let me show you exactly what to do next.
1. Beat the Algorithm at Its Own Game
Here's the truth about social media algorithms: They're designed to keep users engaged, not to help you succeed.
But once you understand how they work, you can make them work FOR you.
The Magic 60-Minute Window:
Your post's first hour determines its fate
Low early engagement = limited reach
High early engagement = exponential visibility
The solution?
Build your engagement squad:
Connect with 5-7 other coaches in your space
Create a group chat
Share posts when they go live
Support each other with meaningful comments
Be genuine – the algorithm can spot fake engagement
2. Find Your Voice Through Volume
Don’t be perfect. Be consistent.
The coaches who “make it” aren't necessarily better writers or experts. They're the ones who showed up. Every. Single. Day.
Your first 100 posts will probably feel awkward. That's normal. That's necessary. That's how you find your voice.
3. Study Success (But Make It Yours)
Look at the coaches in your niche who are getting results.
Don't copy them. Study them:
What topics do they cover?
How do they structure their content?
What stories do they tell?
How do they engage with their audience?
Then ask yourself: How can I bring MY perspective to these conversations?
You can use Taplio to follow viral trends on LinkedIn.
4. The Content That Actually Works
Forget what you think you “should” post.
Instead, answer these questions:
What kept YOU up at night when you were in your clients' shoes?
What was the turning point in your journey?
What do you wish someone had told you?
That's your content goldmine.
5. Master the First Two Lines
You have 2 seconds to grab attention. Make them count.
Strong openings that work:
The Question: “Ever wonder why some coaches seem to attract clients effortlessly?”
The Pattern Interrupt: “Stop posting content on LinkedIn. (At least, stop posting like this...)”
The Bold Statement: “Most coaching content fails for one simple reason. It's trying too hard to sound smart.”
6. Build Your Content Foundation
Every great post needs:
One clear message
One relatable example
One actionable takeaway
That's it.
Don't try to teach everything you know in every post.
7. Track Your Progress (The Smart Way)
Create a simple spreadsheet to track:
Post topic
Type of opening used
Time posted
Engagement after 1 hour
Total engagement
DMs/leads received
After 30 days, patterns will emerge. Trust the data.
The Truth About Building an Audience
It feels like nothing's happening... until suddenly everything happens at once.
That's why most people quit too soon.
They don't see that audience-building is like warming up a cold room:
The heater's running
The air is changing
But it takes time to feel the difference
Keep showing up. Keep providing value. Keep being consistent.
Your audience is coming.
If you implement anything from this email, make it #1 and #2.
Here's to your success,
